Heather & Ricy Sikh and Find with their Edmonton Wedding Photographer

Heather and Ricky had a marriage ceremony as modern and unique as the bride and groom themselves.

Heather and Ricky tied the knot twice, with each ceremony representing the bride or grooms ethnicity. The first ceremony was at Gurdwara in a traditional Sikh ceremony. Half Italian and half Filipino, Heather warmly embraced the splendid Sikh wedding sari with jewelled accessories, but also added her own flare to the outfit by changing the colors. Ricky looked handsome in the traditional Sikh outfit and carried a sword that has been in his family for generations. With all this tradition, The couple decided to use the urban downtown Calgary as the backdrop for their wedding photos to juxtapose their traditional costumes. City Hall in downtown Calgary provided the necessary architecture and backdrops.

On the second day, Heather and Ricky's loved ones witnessed a beautiful Catholic ceremony with the Filipino tradition of literally tying the knot and putting a veil over the couple. Heather looked breathtaking in a form fitting mermaid Maggie Sottero dress. Pictures were then taken at the historical Stephen Avenue Walk, in the heart of Downtown Calgary. Not to be outdone be the gorgeous ceremonies that preceded it, Heather and Ricky's reception was one of the best parties in years. With 700 people in attendance, the dance floor was something straight out of a Bollywood movie. Live drum players added to the ambiance, and had everyone exploding with energy and doin' their Bollywood thing... especially Ricky's dad.

BIG thanks to the bride and groom and to their wonderfully friendly and patient bridal party.
